PORK AND PEANUT NOTICE

According to NSLP regulations, schools are allowed to serve pork and peanut butter products. However, for the 2024-2025 school year, our school has made the decision not to serve any pork or peanut products. We are able to substitute these items with alternatives such as sunflower butter, and we have a wide variety of chicken, turkey, and beef products available.

To answer your specific questions about certain menu items:

• Turkey Ham – contains only turkey meat.

• Maple Pigs in a Blanket – despite the name, this dish contains only turkey sausage and biscuits. The turkey sausage is made exclusively from turkey meat.

• Pepperoni Pizza – we use only turkey pepperoni.

• Meatball Sub – the meatballs are made from chicken, turkey, and beef only.

• Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich – contains sunflower butter instead of peanut butter.

We have committed to being a pork- and peanut-free school for this school year as long as these substitute products remain available. If food shortages occur, we may need to change this decision.
